Preferences window reference

Use Remotix preferences to set options that affect how you interact with remote servers.

Choose Edit > Preferences… and set any of the options in the tables below.

General pane


Show icon in Menu Bar

Choose whether to show Remotix icon in menu bar. See Remotix menu in the menu bar.

Start Remotix at system startup (available only in non-Mac App Store version)

Choose whether to launch Remotix on system start.

Show Computer List at startup

Choose whether to hide main window at startup.

Install updates automatically

Security pane


Master password

Set or change master password to protect stored credentials. See Protect confidential data with master password.

Stored passwords

Click Reset All to remove all stored passwords from Remotix.

Viewer pane


When connected use

Choose whether to control the mouse, trackpad, keyboard, and Clipboard when connecting to a new computer.

When controlling

Choose whether to allow remote user control of mouse, trackpad and keyboard while you are connected.

When minimized

Choose whether to pause Viewer activity to reduce CPU load.

When maхimized

Enable maximizing the viewer window to full screen.

Clipboard transfer indicator

Enable showing the Clipboard transfer indicator in the Viewer window whenever you copy or paste text and images.

Keyboard Mode indicator

Enable showing the Input mode indicator in the Viewer window title whenever mouse and keyboard events are being sent to the remote machine.

Auto synchronize Clipboard by default

Enable automatic clipboard synchronization when available. See Share clipboards between client and server.

Enable to allow Remotix trying to re-establish the connection automatically if the connection has been interrupted. See Automatic reconnect.

Key Mapping pane


Key Mapping

Change the behavior of modifier keys with a pop-up menu. These settings are stored separately for Apple Screen Sharing, Windows RDP and other VNC connections.
